The Redmond Oregon VFW Post began as veterans starting returning from WWII in late 1945. The 30-40 veterans that started the Redmond Post first met at the Officers Quarters at the Army Air Corps Base located at what is now Roberts Field (Redmond Airport). In early 1946, they applied for and obtained a charter from the National Veterans of Foreign Wars as Deschutes Post 4108.
VFW 4108 provides an array of services to the local community and its members. These volunteer efforts include blood drive assistance, CPR classes, flag presentation, Veterans Day programs, and various youth initiatives. Like all VFW posts, this one aims to foster camaraderie among US veterans from overseas conflicts and advocate for their benefit in and around Redmond.
Canine Rescue East & West
Cascade Canine Rescue East and West – 501(c)(3), is made up of a team of volunteers who are passionate about what they do. Each member of this great organization has put in their own personal time to help canines in desperate need of help. Our team is incredible at what they do.
The majority of our furry friends are saved from overcrowded high kill shelters and other urgent situations in CA. These animals have often been neglected or dumped, and have little to no chance of survival without CCREW and our passionate partners. It truly takes a village to make a dent in the terrible overpopulation epidemic in this country.
